From Genotype to Phenotype: Understanding Gene Function in Cell Models of Brain Development

Speaker:

Lachlan Jolly, Research Fellow
School of Medicine at the University of Adelaide

Abstract:
Join us for a live webinar and gain an understanding of how genes linked to intellectual disability are crucial for brain development. Lachlan Jolly, Research Fellow, Pediatrics and Reproductive HealthSchool of Medicine at the University of Adelaide, will discuss the identification and characterization of x-linked intellectual disability genes using Next Generation Sequencing in patient derived cell lines. This work has led to a better understanding of relevant disease mechanisms that converge on embryonic stages of brain development.

Topics will include:
  • Inherited disorders-intellectual disability
  • Transcription factor regulation in neural development
  • Disease mechanisms that play a role in embryonic stages of brain development

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
